Job At A Glance 

The Product Manager of our data tool suite will be focused on creating actionable data sets and deliverables for our end customers and internal operations team. The product manager will be an individual contributor with the freedom to figure out how to get stuff done, but with the full support and mentoring from engineering, sales, operations and marketing veterans.

 

What You Will Do

  • Help define and deliver a product vision and strategy.
  • Work directly with customers to understand their pain points and disseminate customer empathy across all product stakeholders, including our Deliverable Team that uses these tools to process this big data.
  • Define, document and communicate customer use cases, scenarios and needs.
  • Help internal technical product teams ruthlessly prioritize product features and influence their backlogs.
  • Work with engineering and business stakeholders including operations, finance, sales and business development to deliver business specific value.
  • Engage at a deep technical level with partners to understand their roadmap and its potential impact on our customers.
  • Inform and educate stakeholders on existing and future functionality.
  • Maximize productivity in a constantly changing environment of shifting priorities.
  • Perform competitive analysis and value proposition differentiation.
  • Define a set of KPIs to measure customer satisfaction and business impact with the ability to analyze them and utilize them in decision making processes.
  • Integrate analytics, data science and research into your methodology.

 

What Gecko Is Looking For

  • 3 years of experience as an Engineer, Web Developer, Data Scientist, or Analyst required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, STEM, or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience preferred, ideally 3+ years in a technical role and 2+ years in a Product Management role
  • Experience in product management, product development, and in shipping quality products that delivered business impact and customer satisfaction
  • Has demonstrated a strong product delivery process through iteration
  • Experience drafting Product Requirement Documents, User Stories, and Backlogs
  • An influencer of product and people
  • Demonstrates an undeniable focus on the customer, always striving to understand their wants/needs
  • Passionate about working with other businesses and product stakeholders to solve their specific challenges while putting customer trust and experience first
  • Proven history of converting learnings from customer insights into tangible product features that customers love
  • Entrepreneurial instincts with clear bias for informed action and track record of leading new initiatives with limited resources and support
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to use data and metrics for making assumptions and decisions
  • Ability to successfully work with cross range of teams including engineering, operations, sales, and marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Capable of using modern web data tools
  • Extremely comfortable working with SQL queries
  • Understanding of the engineering development process 
  • Familiarity with modern web tools preferred, including:
  • Django, React, PostgreSQL, Python, Flask, public clouds (GCP preferred or AWS)
  • Previous experience with Agile/Scrum Methodology
  • Experience with Product insight and roadmapping tools like Aha, Product Plan, Jira, ProductBoard, Craft, etc. 
  • Good understanding and working experience in technology development best practices (such as, Agile, etc.) and product management technologies, preferred 
  • Product development or management experience in Data, Signal Processing, or Machine Learning space/industry preferred
  • Experience presenting to senior executives, preferred
  • Experience at high-growth technology startup companies or another fast-paced environment, preferred not required
